Hardy perennial with flat, solid leaves. Leaves good in salads and stir-frys or as a garnish on soup. Flowers can be used to make chive blossom vinegar. It grows in an average garden with well drained soil. Cut clumps close to the ground frequently to encourage fresh growth.
