Today, it’s revered for its amazing nutrition profile, including protein and dietary fibre. A great choice for those avoiding wheat, our Amaranth Puffs have a unique, mild-toasted flavour and ‘soft crunch’ texture that adds character to baked goods. It also makes a delicious breakfast cereal – simply add your favourite milk and toss in some fresh fruit and nuts.
Organic Puffed Amaranth is a light and tasty addition to breakfast foods. Eat them on their own with dairy, grain or nut milk, or add them to your favourite cereal. Puffed amaranth is also delicious in home-made mueslis and granola. For a quick and convenient snack sprinkle puffs over yoghurt and fresh berries.
Or combine them with dried fruit, nuts and seeds in a scrumptious hikers’ mix. To create yummy bars simply melt 1/3 cup of coconut nectar or maple syrup with 3/4 cup of any nut butter or pureed Medjool dates over a low heat.
Add a little vanilla and 3 & 1/2 cups of amaranth puffs, mix well and press into a lined tray to set for 2 hours in the fridge.
